COFFEE DATE:: Favorite Links & Random Tid Bits

Hi, Happy Friday Friends! I'm soooo happy it's Friday! Something about the end of the week just feels good! This week instead of a video for you I've got some random thoughts and favorite links from the week!

These kids, they keep me on my toes. Ava's been in school now for a few weeks, and I'm enjoying my time with Zane just him and me. It's a bit of a change for us. But I am often reminded how Ava had my undivided attention for 2.5 years before he came along. So it's nice to be able to spend some quality time with him while she's off learning new things and making sweet friends.

A new Miss America was crowned Sunday night! I had a viewing party and all, it was awesome! Thanks to my friends for coming over and putting up with my nonsense and fun games. If you haven't heard Twitter was a buzz over the new Miss A and people have tons to say. I read THIS POST this week and I thought it was pretty spot on!

Have I ever told you how much I enjoy watching You Tube vids? Yup, I lock myself away often in my bedroom after the kids go to sleep and the Hubby is watching football and play videos on my IPAD. I recently discovered What's Up MOMs on youtube (I know, I've been living under a rock) If you haven't watched them yet do yourself a favor, click over and subscribe! Ya'lll these are some talented and funny Mamas! I suggest watching their BACK T SCHOOL VIDEO. You're welcome!

Monday I've got a fun video for ya about healthy snacks! What I like to snack on, and how I prepare them.

This week on the blog; BOOK REVIEW, and a HEADBOARD I'M CRUSHING ON

Tonight I'm headed to a local blogger meet up I'm organizing. We're gonna paint pottery together, which is seriously on of my favorite things to do!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Leave me a comment and tell me what your fave YouTube channel is!

Book Review:: Interrupted by Jen Hatmaker

When Jesus wrecks your comfortable Christianity. Yup, that pretty much sums this one up!

Interrupted is like the pre-cursor to Seven, but don't worry if you've already read that one. This was my second book I read in August.

God has been working on me since the end of last year, forcing me to take a good look at those idols I'd been building. If you don't know what I'm talking about read this post.

God often does his best speaking to me through written word and music. So it's of no surprise to me that he'd use these words to further wreck my heart (in a good way.)

Stripped down, raw and real Jen really gets to the heart of Christianity. What is the purpose of the church? What is our response as believers and followers of Christ?

It made me take a look at what I was and wasn't doing in response to scripture. It made me realize even more that what God has been revealing to me in my own personal time with him is real and not off track to his mission.

I feel challenged and inspired after reading this book.

One of the lines that has stuck with me in the book is a scene that Jen and her husband play out during an Easter service. When God reveals to them what the church should look like. It's a powerful God moment that I felt chills as I read the words. Pretty raw and real words.

And my prayer after reading this has been for God to reveal to me how to love people like he does. Tangibly. Spiritually. But mostly to reveal to me how to love on his people that cross my daily path.

Home Finds:: WalMart

You guys, some times you find some gems at Walmart! I kinda avoid Walmart a lot, but I was online shopping a couple weeks back searching for a headboard for my master bedroom and stumbled upon this one at Walmart, which got me curious to see what else online they had that was cute. Well, here ya go. Some cute home finds from Walmart!

I really love the headboard and the mirror I found. They just may make it home with me for my master bedroom makeover.

What are your favorite Walmart finds? Tell me in the comments below.

Mom's Night Out Movie Review + Win a BLU-RAY DVD Combo Pack!

Moms really do rule the world!

Have you seen Mom's Night Out yet?! I was able to see a pre screening of the movie earlier this year before it came out. I loved it so much I went and saw it again after it released!

Mom's Night Out is a funny and heart warming movie about what motherhood is really like! I literally sat in the movie theatre laughing as to how true the movie played out motherhood! Full of ups and downs, joys and chaos!

This is a fun movie to grab your mama friends and settle in for the night and laugh together. I promise you'll see yourself in this funny movie about life & motherhood! It also has a very encouraging message about accepting ourselves the way God made us, giving ourselves a break and not being so hard on ourselves as mothers.

I'm excited today to be offering ONE lucky reader the chance to WIN a DVD BLU-RAY Combo Pack of the movie! Please use the Rafflecopter below for your entries! Winner will be announced via email when the contest is over!
