Regrets and Resting in Him.

My husband and I were having this deep conversation this past weekend about regrets and our faith as believers. My question was;

"As Christians what is our response to regret in our lives?"

Is it ok to have regrets? What does that mean for our lives? Just some questions that I've had and evaluated in my own life. In the last five years regret is something that I've really struggled with. I've had regrets from the way I've handled and responded to things in my past. It's something I pray about daily and seek God's wisdom on daily about how to deal with how I feel.

I've been reading The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst.

I read a few chapters the very next day after my Husband and I were talking about the subject of regret, it seriously was a God moment that the very next day God opened up wisdom to a new perspective on this subject.

In the book she says:

The only way to diminish our regrets is by making decision that lead to peace. And peace requires from us some sort of release. Release brings with it the gift of peace. The beautiful, bare winter branch can now receive its snow. When we release in peace, we signal we're now ready to receive. Receive what's next. Receive what's best. Receive what's meant for this season, right now.

Isn't that so good!?

The simple act of releasing brings us peace. God can give us peace over time as we release our regret to him. This gave me such clarity as I move forward to daily seek his wisdom and peace.

To know that as I do that each day he's pouring out his wisdom, grace and peace to me.

I feel so encouraged to know that my Jesus cares about those things and he wants me to rest in Him with my regrets.

What is something you've been struggling with lately? How can you release it to bring yourself peace that God can give you?

Upgrade Your Shower with Delta Faucet + A #HappiMess Giveaway

Our house was built in 2001, everything in it from fixtures to cabinetry is pretty builder basic. When we bought it almost two years ago we were lucky that the owners made some huge updates with granite and refinishing the existing cabinets. Since we moved in we've been slowly trying to replace some of the builder basic fixtures like towel racks and other things. There's a million towel racks in all of our bathrooms. We've also been removing a few of those.

Recently we've been concentrating a lot of our energy on re doing our master bedroom & bath. We're currently drawing up some plans to rip out our entire master closet and build something custom.

We recently updated our shower head to the Delta Temp2O™ Shower Head, our master shower is just a shower and tub combo, nothing fancy I'd love to someday have whirlpool tub but for now this will work.

The Delta Temp2O™ Shower Head has six water settings and the Full Spray with massage is my favorite! It also has an LED Digital temperature display. It's a great upgrade to my shower experience!

The Delta Temp2O™ Shower Head is so easy to install it can be done in three simple steps:

1. Have your handsome Hubby remove the old awful shower head. Take the Delta Temp2O™ Shower Head out of the packaging and screw it onto the faucet.

2. Turn the water on for a test run. Play with the different settings and make sure everything is working.

3. Get a cute assistant to quality control your work then step back and admire your new  Delta Temp2O™ Shower Head.

OCTOBER Goals.

Where did the month of September go? Seriously. The year is almost over. Soooo, my September goals went pretty well. There's a few things that didn't get crossed off my list (ahem, Christmas shopping) so that's getting moved to my October list.

View my September Goals here.

October is a crazy month for us, it's starts with my birthday and then two weeks later is my Hubby's birthday, We also have a wedding this month, and I have a couple events to attend. Then Thanksgiving and Christmas and the year is almost over. My husband is also officiating a wedding this month and we're hoping to get some Fall activities in before the month is over, like visiting the pumpkin patch!

Here's my October goals:

01/ Read a new book: I've been loving having this as a goal the last two months. It's really kept me accountable to reading and I like that.

02/ 31 Days Writing Challenge: I've wanted to do this for a few years and just never could solidify a topic or idea. But God's been working on my heart and put inside me the idea of exploring the idea of Resting in Him. I hope you're enjoying the series so far as much as I am, if you're not following along catch up here. Follow along with #31DaysofRestinginHim on social media.

03/ Finish Christmas Shopping: At least for my kiddos. I'm almost done, so close and I wanted to have it done last month but it just didn't happen. So I'd like to finish theirs. I've finished my Hubby and now I need to cross off my kiddos from the list.

04/ Prepare for Phoenix Flea: I've decided to be a vendor at Phoenix Flea this year. It's happening the end of November. So this month I'd like to finalize my booth set up ideas and get all my inventory made.

05/ Start Running Again: You guys, I haven't been running lately because it's so hot here in Phoenix. Now that it's cooling down a bit I think I can start running again. Wish me luck.

Some Verses to Rest On

One thing the Lord is teaching me during this season of rest that I am in, is that resting on His word is so important. Being in scripture daily is so key and important for me to keep my mind and focus on Christ.

I see the difference it makes in my day, I see the difference it makes in my spirit when I am in His word, reading it daily and seeing how it can apply to my life.

So today on this thought I'd love to share with you some of my favorite scriptures I've been resting on the last few months, I hope that you're encouraged to pick up your own Bible and start reading, dig deeper into what God has for you.

If you don't have a Bible, please fill out the contact form and I would love to send you one.

I will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

So this is what the Lord says, Stand at the crossroads and look, ask for ancient paths. Ask where the good way is and walk i it and you will find rest for your souls. Jeremiah 6:16

We have access to the Father through the Spirit. Ephesians 2:18

Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing one another in love. Make every effort to keep unity in the Spirit through Peace. Ephesians 4:2

Galations 5:22 (Fruits of the Spirit)

1 Cor. 15:58 Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Give yourself fully to the Lord because you know that your labor is not in vain.

1 Cor. 1:4, 4:5, 6:12

I John 3:1 How great is the Father.

v. 16 We know because he laid down his life for us.

Perfect love casts out all fear. 1 John 4:18

1 Peter 1:3-15

1 Peter 4:8

1 Peter 5:10 He will restore you and make you strong.

What are some verses you are resting on today?

Bringing Disney Junior Magic Home Everyday

We recently took a family vacation to Disneyland, it was the high light of our summer! It was our first trip to Disney as a family, my husband's first time, and our children's first experience at Disney. My daughter is loving all things Disney Junior at the moment, we've been on the hunt for that perfect kids halloween costume

My husband and I were joking that we think they filter something through the air at Disney because it's just such a happy place! There's for sure magic in the air.

Since our trip we've been thinking of ways to bring the Disney magic, joy and delight to our everyday.

Disney is a state of mind. It's a thing I'm sure of it! We can't wait till we get to visit Mickey again.

I loved Disney as a kid, but seeing Disneyland through your children's point of view is so much better I think.

Ava is loving all things Minnie Mouse since she met her at Disneyland this summer, she is equally loving all things Doc McStuffins. We headed to Walmart to find one of these costumes to bring our own Disney magic home.

Another fun way to bring home Disney magic and show your Disney side by using themed plates and cups. American Greetings has a great Disney Junior lined in the cards & party section. I picked up some festive plates and napkins of the kiddos to use during snack time!

A fun way to make snack time a little more Disney like! Ava loved her Minnie Mouse plates!

I loved being able to come home with a Saturday surprise for them. It's the little things like this that matter, and I kinda like to think that's what Disney magic is all about. Celebrating the little things.

What are some of your ways to bring Disney magic home? Are any of your kids excited to be a Disney Junior character for Halloween? Which one?
