Protecting Yourself and Your Children with Identron

This post is sponsored by Identron, all opinions are my own.

Last Summer my husband and I’s bank accounts were hacked, thankfully our bank caught it right away and we were able to get a handle on it very quickly before it got to out of hand. I love the internet and all things online, if you’ve spent any amount of time with me here you know that. I believe the internet can be used for good and I’ve seen that. Along with that I think we have to be smart in how we use the internet and practically protect ourselves and our children from fraud and identity theft.

One million kids last year were effected by identity theft! That is a crazy amount, I didn’t even realize it was that high. Just the other day I got something in the mail addressed to my nine year old from an online study program, it really made me think about the forms we fill out with our kids names, addresses and other info and how all that can become public information and be sold to third parties without you even knowing it.

This was something I’d never thought about. How about you? So, when Identron reached out to me and provided me with the education I was missing I was onboard to learn and share with all of you.

Identron offers comprehensive identity protect for you and your entire family! They monitor your child’s Social Security number and look for any suspicious activity. A few other services they provide:

  • Dark web monitoring

  • USA change of address updates

  • Credit Bureau monitoring

Check out their comprehensive plans for children here and for adults here.

A tip that we use when filling out forms at various places is not to put their SSN on any paper work, when it’s not necessary. Of coarse some medical forms will ask for this but if we know they have already asked for this and we’ve put it down on originals we will not write it down again let’s say for a routine check up or sick visit.

A few ways we safe guard our kids while they are online and using devices, we limit screen time. We monitor it closely. They are not allowed to go into their rooms with their devices alone unmonitored. We also have Netflix and other streaming shows set to an age appropriate setting. They can not watch anything over a certain age limit. Visit Identron’s tip page for more tips on this subject.

I invite you to check out Identron, their site is full of useful information and protection plans for your family. Only us as parents are going to protect our children, I am reminded no one is going to do that job but me and I want to be informed and armed with the best tools.

Family Evening Walks.

We've been trying to get out more as a family, one of our goals this year was to be more active as a family. Remember our hike a couple weeks back? We started taking evening family walks. It gets us outside and active. Sometimes the kids ride their bikes or scooters and we walk. I thought I'd take you along for one of those family walks;

What are some ways that you get out and get active as a family? I'd love to hear them in the comments below.

Painting Days & Snacks I Feel Good About Giving My Kids.

this post is brought to you by Fly Joy. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that help make this blog possible.

We love quiet painting days around here. Most of the country is knee deep in snow during this time of year but here in Phoenix it's cooler temps and a bit of rain. On those rainy quiet days we like to stay inside and do quiet activities together.

My kids love painting and art, it's so easy to just sit and paint for a whole afternoon. I love seeing their creations.

Dollar Spot paints for the win! Whenever I see these in the Target dollar spot I scoop these up, they are easy and affordable.

During our painting time the kids always love a good snack. Since my kiddos were little we've always tried to keep healthy options on hand in our home. That's what I love about Fly Joy Bars, with 7 different flavors to choose from filled with grains like quinoa, flax seed and chia this is a snack I feel good about feeding my family.

Each Fly Joy bar is gluten free, vegan and non-GMO! And what I love even more is that each purchase 10% of the purchase price goes towards families in need.

My fave flavor is the Cashew Cookie Fly Joy bars! These are the perfect snacks for a day of art or coloring, I also like throwing these in my bag during days of errand running and afternoons at the park.

Fly Joy is offering 25% off your order with code: ART25 visit their site here to purchase.

Mommy & Me Buffalo Check.

When Ava woke up on Sunday she declared that we should wear our matching shirts! How could I say no? Buffalo check is my fave this season, well actually anything plaid. I'm using it in our holiday decor this year too!

Ava's dress is from H&M, I couldn't find it online but it's sold in stores. I love that this look can be holiday ready because of the fun print, or simply just wear for everyday. I got this vest on super clearance earlier this year at Target, love those finds!

My sweet kiddos. I'm so thankful for them; for their grace for me on days I don't deserve it and their love. There's nothing better than an unexpected "I love you mom" from these two.  I don't know if they'll always want to be like me, but I pray that God gives me a heart after Him so that they will want to follow Jesus all of their days.
