EP 49: How We Approach Christmas Gifts in Our Home

Welcome back everyone! Today’s episode I’m chatting all about how we approach Christmas gifts and save in our home. Listen along!

We do four gifts in these categories below! This helps keep Christmas focused and intentional for us! It’s worked really well for our family and I hope that it’s helpful for you.

  • something they want

  • something they wear

  • something they need

  • something to read

For savings I start purchasing gift cards from some of my fave stores the beginning of October. I usually do Target and Amazon. That’s where I shop at most. So by the time the season rolls around I have funds already set aside that I’m not going to use for anything else besides buying Christmas gifts!

I hope this episode was helpful for you as you move into buying and gift giving this season.

EP 47: Good Things, Right Things & Obedience

Today on the Flourish Together Podcast we are talking about overwhelmed schedules, good things, right things and obedience. We don’t talk about obedience enough in our culture, what does that look like when it’s practically lived out?

I hope this is an honest conversation we have about making wise decisions, and walking with obedient hearts.

Anything less than obedience is God is disobedience. I want my heart to walk in accordance to what God is calling me to for this season of my life.

EP 46: Our Favorite Family Christmas Traditions

My house has been decorated for three weeks already, and I’m loving the glow each night from the trees and garlands! I just love Christmas time. Today on the show I’m walking you through all of my family’s favorite Christmas traditions.

I hope this gets you into the Christmas spirit and excited for the holidays. I know we’re celebrating Thanksgiving this week but it’s never to early I have Christmas Cheer! Enjoy!

  • Special ornaments - we let our kids pick out special ornaments to put on the tree each year. We make an evening out of this, and shop and got out to eat. We also grab a special ornament each year while on vacation to represent that vacation each year.

  • Two Christmas trees - one “family” tree and one “main” tree. The kids decorate the family tree and I decorate the main tree and switch up the tree theme each year.

  • An advent calendar - one activity each day for the month of December. I pick different activities to do each day.

    • make christmas cookies

    • meet Santa

    • make paper snowflakes

    • hot cocoa & watch a christmas movie

    • drive around and look at christmas lights

  • Making Christmas cookies & candies - using our own family’s reciepes make it really special and it’s a great opportunity to share with your kids about your family history.

  • 12 Days of Christmas books under the tree.
